Chocolate Chip Oreo Blondies
Serves: 24
Crumbly, buttery chocolate chip batter enveloping a luscious cream cheese filling and surprising you with whole Oreo cookies in every single bite.

Ingredients
2 sticks softened butter
¾ C. packed light brown sugar
1 C. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
3 ½ C. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 C. chocolate chips
8 oz. cream cheese
2 Tbsp. sugar
1-2 Tbsp. milk
24 Oreo cookies

Instructions
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugars until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined. Add flour, salt, baking soda and chocolate chips; mix until just combined.
Press half of dough into bottom of a greased 9×13 pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until slightly browned. While bars are baking, beat cream cheese with sugar. Add enough milk to make the mixture a spreadable consistency.

Remove bars from oven; top with 24 Oreo cookies. Spread cream cheese mixture over Oreos. Top with remaining half of chocolate chip dough. Bake 25-30 minutes, or until bars are set. Cool before cutting.

These are called blondie bars, but they're more like chocolate chip cookies in bar form.
Once the cookie dough is par-baked, it's topped with a layer of Oreo cookies. I chose the half and half Oreos, but you could use the regular or vanilla ones.
The Oreos are slathered with a cream cheese filling. The cream cheese part was the only part I didn't care for. It was a little too tangy for me. It didn't quite go with these bars. I think it needs to be sweetened more or maybe melted white chocolate or marshmallow fluff would be a good substitute.

I added a white chocolate drizzle on top of the cream cheese layer, but you still got bites of tangy cream cheese when you bit into these. No one else said anything about the cream cheese filling, but I would still try to sweeten it up a bit.
The cream cheese gets covered with a crumbly mixture of the chocolate chip cookie dough.
And once they're baked and cooled, they're ready to be cut and devoured!

I love seeing the Oreos peeping out between the chocolate chip cookie layers. So fun!

I know! I love the Oreo peeking out from inside the cookie bar. I'll be making a brownie cookie bar stuffed with an Oreo this week!
