Jell-O Fruit Slices

I love these cute Jell-O fruit slices! They're so easy to make and fun to serve. They really look like slices of fruit! You can make these with any flavor of Jell-O you like. Bright colors (like pictured below) would be fun for a summer bbq. You can also add alcohol to make unique and tasty Jell-O shots.
Look at all these fun colors! What kid or adult wouldn't gobble these up? (And yes, I know what gelatin is made of). But still, these would be great at any party.
Here's how to do it:

Hollow out orange halves (Oranges impart a sweet flavor. I wouldn't recommend limes or lemons because they add a bitter note to the Jell-O). Save the orange segments for another use. I made an orange, soy sauce chicken with mine. So good!
Line the empty orange halves in a muffin tin. I placed folded napkins under a few to get them level.
Make Jell-O according to the package directions (if adding alcohol, nows the time to do it). Fill orange halves up to the top. Chill until set.
Once the Jell-O is firm, cut into wedges and serve.
These wiggly Jell-O slices are fun because everyone looks at them and wonders what they are and how you made them. The kids and adults I served these to all really enjoyed them. It's definitely a fun and unique treat.

Jell-O

Cut oranges in half. Hollow out oranges and save insides for another use. Place oranges in a muffin tin. Make Jell-O according to package directions. Pour Jell-O into each orange half, filling them to the top. Chill until set, usually 4 hours. Cut orange halves into wedges.

* If making these with alcohol, substitute part of the cold water (not hot) with alcohol.

Jell-O Shot ideas:
Watermelon Jell-O - Sour Apple Schnapps
Cherry Jell-O - Amaretto
Lime Jell-O - Tequila or Absolut Citron
Orange Jell-O - Peach Schnapps
Strawberry Jell-O - White Rum
